I don’t know much about the 70’s. All I know is I wish I could have been a part of it- the fashion, at least. I’ve been so into 60’s/70’s styles lately in case you haven’t noticed in my every day looks. Recently, I’ve actually secretly been going on binge thrifting trips in local vintage stores and even etsy, trying to find some great items for my newfound fashion inspiration! I haven’t really found a ton yet- mainly just some cool button ups and a really gorgeous thick white crochet kimono that I’m sure belonged to a sassy housewife in the good old days. *Idea* I could totally show you guys in a blog post a bunch of my finds! Let me know if you’d want that!
This outfit was worn about two weeks ago, when just 30 minutes before Alisha was supposed to come over, I had a strong- and I mean strong need to quench my thirst for vintage. I ran out the door and drove to a place about 3 miles down the road called Out Of The Box, and quickly grabbed and tried on everything my creative side of my brain smiled at. We were heading to Meg DeAngelis’ birthday, so I grabbed her a present at a nearby indie gift shop and snapped this photo at its back wall. As you can see, it was totally inspired by the inner Woodstock in me.
My knowledge and collection of 60’s/70’s fashion is growing, so I’ll update you as I get better at creating outfits of the era I believe speaks to my style the most. It’s quirky, experimental, mod and carefree. I love It on a whole new level.
